MISS UNIVERSE 2017 STEVE HARVEY CROWNS MISS FRANCE AS THE WINNER

MISS UNIVERSE 2017
The correct one this time.
If you tuned into the Miss Universe competition on Sunday hoping that host Steve Harvey might, well, pull a Steve Harvey like at last year’s event, you’re probably wishing you could get the last three hours of your life back. But for pageant purists, it was a magnificent evening, full of sights, sounds and marvellous parade of beautiful gowns!

Over the course of the three hour long show, beauty queens from countries around the globe strutted their stuff in evening gowns and swimwear, and struggled to answer hard-hitting questions on topics ranging from body image to Donald Trump’s presidency.
This year’s ceremony featured musical performances from Flo Rida and Boyz II Men while the panel of judges included The Real Housewives of Atlanta‘s Cynthia Bailey, Paper Magazine’s Mickey Boardman and producer Francine LeFrak, as well as Miss Universes 2011, 1994 and 1993.
Though all 86 international hopefuls gave the competition their best shot, there can only be one Miss Universe. Well, one at a time, anyway, and this year’s winner is: Miss France, Iris Mittenaere.
The Parisian native, age 24, is studying for a degree in dental surgery, and plans to use her platform as the winner of the 65th annual competition to advocate for oral hygiene. The second runner-up goes to Miss Colombia, Andrea Tovar, while second place went to Miss Haiti, Raquel Pélissier.
